What is CAPE Project

The Cities and People in Europe (CAPE) Project focuses on researching multicultural and multiethnic cities in Europe from an economic and consumer behavior perspective. The project specifically examines cities where the majority population has become a minority. It explores the role of economic activity and consumption in the functioning of these multicultural cities. How do people in Europe’s multicultural cities behave as consumers, employers, employees, and business owners? How do economic activity and consumption facilitate cultural cooperation, integration, and hybridization?

The CAPE Project aims to help scientists, policymakers, and destination/place marketers and planners better understand the economic and consumer dynamics of multicultural cities in Europe, and how these factors contribute to the development of thriving, diverse urban environments.
